Ask the Author: September 2008

Zoning Practice is pleased to make it possible for subscribers and website visitors to ask questions of current authors about their articles. Authors will study the questions, consolidate any that are similar, and write answers that will be posted on this website.

This Month: The Consistency Doctrine

The Consistency Doctrine states that comprehensive plans and the regulatory tools designed to implement those plans should be in harmony. The August issue of Zoning Practice warns against the pitfalls of inconsistency and shows how some state and local governments have made consistency law.

Author Lora Lucero, editor of Planning & Environmental Law, and staff liaison to APA's amicus curiae committee, will be online September 8-–19 to answer your questions about the consistency doctrine.
